It may seem really lame to paint pottery on a Friday night, but Jeffrey and I had been looking forward to doing this since we got married. Every time we drove to the Riverwoods we would always see the Color Me Mine shop calling our names ever so slightly with the facade that he and I might be artistic enough to create a masterpiece. So a couple weeks ago we succumbed to the temptation and decided to go paint a mug. We have started this tradition of getting a mug every cool place we go. While we fully understand that Provo is not ranked among the list of "cool places" we've been, it is the town in which we met and lived during our first year of marriage. So instead of buying some lame mug with a map of Provo on it, we decided to paint our own.
Both of us getting a little too concentrated in painting the mug.
As a side note, please keep in mind that Jeffrey and I are probably the furthest from being artistically talented. We felt so inadequate next to the indie hipsters around us, with their deep V necks and skinny pastel jeans, painting these intricate lines and swirlies, getting lost in the live plinky guitar music of the man in the fedora. My grand idea was to have stripes on the mug. But it turned out to be cute and just what we wanted.
i collect mugs too!!! i love them. this is cute.
